Pastor Nathan shares what he thinks Jesus – the most influential person in human history – might have to say about the night’s topic, and then the group discussion begins.

Regulars, newcomers, Christians of every sort, and non-Christians are all welcome and wanted.  We want to hear from you.  Good discussion and honest debate challenges and improves everyone’s thinking.

Recently our friend Kirby suggested that the weekly discussion would be improved if people had time to think about the topic of the week and the discussion questions before hand.  Great idea!

Here is the topic and discussion questions for Wednesday, September 2nd:

What Is The Role & Purpose of Money?

1. What is the relationship between money and happiness? Is there a low threshold where money or the standard of living it provides directly affects happiness?  Is there an upper threshold where money or the higher standard of living it provides no longer directly affects happiness?
2. What sorts of things is money capable of achieving? What sorts of things is money incapable of achieving?
3. For individuals and families, what are the most important priorities for money to achieve?
4. In 1869, P.T. Barnum said, “Money, like fire, is an excellent servant, but a terrible master.” How do most people relate to money – as its master or its servant?  What factors influence this?
5. What financial practices can someone take on to keep money a servant and not a master?
